First and foremost, start with a foundation primer to fill in those fine lines and wrinkles. Foundations also work wonders in absorbing excess oil and in controlling shine all day and all night long. Next, use a semi-matte liquid foundation or a matte foundation powder to the entire face. Do not forget to blend along the neckline to avoid an obvious makeup line.

The next step is to use a neutral colour set of eye shadows. Put on the lightest shade in the corner of the eye. Sweep it just under the brow bone. Apply the medium shade on the lower eyelids. Use black liquid eyeliner and apply a thin line across the lash line and on the upper lids. Use an angle brush to make a slight angle upward and outward at the end of the lash line. Curl those lashes and apply at least two coats of mascara.

Lastly, line the lips with a lip coloured lip pencil. Instead of using lipstick, apply a thick coat of clear light pink lip gloss. To be specific, use a bubblegum pink since it is sheer. Apply it with a soft painting motion to intensify the colour in layers.
Plaid, Fashion Trend For 2011
Plaid, Fashion Trend For 2010
This year has been all about plaid. There’s been everything from plaid shoes to plaid scarves in almost every color of the rainbow. But what can you do with plaid? Well, there’s loads of things! Plaid shirts have been around for the longest time—it’s only recently it’s been making a huge fashion statement. From blouses to tank tops, plaid has been in this year.

However, on one hand, there’s also a line between what counts as too much plaid or not quite enough. Here are a few tips to find out.
When it comes to plaid, you don’t want to wear a whole outfits worth of plaid. That is way too much, even if your outfit matches down to the exact pattern of plaid and colors.
A few options are:
One article of clothing. It can be either shorts or pants or a shirt or blouse. Make sure that your other articles of clothing are neutral colored or something that goes with the main colors in your plaid clothing.
A few accessories. Make sure that there aren’t any more than two accessories and that they match in color and pattern (some plaids are smaller and more intricate than others). An example would be a plaid bandana and perhaps plaid shoes. It’s not too much and not too little.
Also keep in mind that you should not mix patterns. Zebra stripes don’t go well with plaid and neither do any other prints. Remember to keep it simple when mixing and matching your clothing as well.
How to Clean Makeup Brushes
How to Clean Makeup Brushes
Cleaning makeup brushes can be a bit more difficult than you might think. However, there are a few ways of doing so that don’t take too much effort on your part and you can do quite easily.

The best time to wash your brushes is at night or before you go to school or work. They need a few hours to dry completely. When you’re out of the house or asleep, you won’t need them and also won’t feel the urge to randomly check to see if they’re dry. Here is what you’ll need to clean your makeup brushes: extra virgin olive oil, shampoo, and a cup. (A working faucet never hurts either.)
First, take the brushes and hold them brush side up. Pour just a little bit of oil on the bristles. Then, using your fingers, rub the oil into the brushes as well as you can. You should see random multi-colored liquids on your hands. This is everything that’s in your brush. Yucky, huh? Rinse this. Swipe the brushes back and forth in your palm, spread them out, do all sorts of things. Now, one thing to remember is that the residual oil is still in your brush. Meaning that when they dry, they’ll be greasy. Gross, huh? It also affects how your makeup applies. Which is where the shampoo comes out. Imagine the brush as your hair. Now use enough shampoo to cover 1/4th of the brush and wash it three times. If it still feels rather oily, do it an extra time just in case. Use the same amount of shampoo each time and play with the brush to get out any extra oil. The oil conditions your brush and cleans it deeply, but you really don’t want to keep it on the brush. It causes splotchy makeup application.
Makeup Removal, Step by Step
Makeup Removal, Step by Step
Makeup is great, and girls all over the world use it, whether it is a simple dash of eyeliner and some blush, or a grand effort to make a bride look gorgeous. Unfortunately at the end of the night you have to remove your makeup. If left on for long periods it can lead to clogging of your pores and skin irritation. Here are some steps you can use to get the job done right.

1. You will need soap as well as baby oil or shampoo. This is because there are two different types of makeup. Soap will help get off non-oily makeup, while baby oil will help with the oily makeup. You may also be able to get special removal kits at the cosmetics store.
2. The first thing you should do is remove your eye makeup using a face cloth or a cotton pad with a bit of eye makeup remover. Gently wipe from one side to another under your eyebrow until the makeup is off. You can’t simply use water in this case because eye makeup is designed to be water resistant.
3. If you have any waterproof eye makeup on you can use baby oil to get it off.
4. Next, use warm water to gently clean your face and neck. Don’t forget to clean behind the ears, as makeup can also end up there. Use special face wash, and not ordinary soap because that will dry your skin out.
5. You can then use a towel to dry your face. Do so by patting gently. Have a look on the towel and see if there are any traces of makeup, which you can then clean.
6. Once you have done this, you can resume your usual beauty routine you would follow before bed. This may include toner and moisturizer.
