Tips for Applying Eye Shadow That Lasts
Eyeshadow does wonders for our eyes – it can play them up, play them down, help you look younger, older, more vibrant, and much more. While using eyeshadow can be a joy in its benefits, what is sometimes bad is when you apply your eye shadow, only to have it wear off or clump an hour or so later. There are some things you can do to keep your eye shadow lasting longer and just as vibrant as when you first applied it.
One of the best things you can do before applying eye shadow to help it stay longer is to take care of your skin properly. By keeping the area clean and hydrated by moisturizing, you ensure your eye shadow has the cleanest surface possible to apply to. So start with a clean canvas. Next, it is important to prep the area with makeup. Try using a cream based foundation or concealer, or eye shadow prep cream on your entire lid before you begin. Depending on the type, this will both help the eye shadow stay longer and create a light colored canvas for your eye shadow to stick to, which in turn helps to make the eye shadow stand out more brilliantly in the color it is supposed to be.
Finally, applying the eye shadow is as important as anything. Try using an eye shadow brush rather than the sponge-tip applicator that comes with the eye shadow. This turns the shadow into powder before it hits the eyelid, creating a more adhesive material.
